Dear Community partners & Neighbors:

The City of Grand Rapids City Commission welcomes residents and community partners to a neighborhood engagement session and City Commission Night Out (CNO) meeting Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the Goei Center, 818 Butterworth St. SW. This is the third of three resident engagement and Commission Night Out meetings set this year.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with the official City Commission meeting and neighborhood engagement session beginning at 5:30 p.m. The business portion of the meeting, including scheduled public hearings, begins at 7 p.m. Dinner will be provided by El Granjero Mexican Grill.

Staff will begin the engagement session with highlighting work completed in the First Ward, followed by an opportunity for attendees to meet City staff from 24 departments and offices. Various City staff will be on hand to:

  • Explain the role of various offices and how they work with the community

  • Update attendees on major engagements, plans or events

  • Offer assistance or support on City services

  • Listen to feedback on past engagement efforts

There will be swag and prizes offered to all community members who attend and participate in the engagement session.
