City launches Phase Zero pilot to support local musicians as small businesses
We have launched Phase Zero, a new pilot program that supports local musicians by helping them formalize their small‑business plans and participate directly in the City’s vendor system. Through this effort, 15 to 18 artists will become certified Cultural Business Enterprises and perform free public shows in Ward 3 on September 26 as part of SouthPrize, Southtown CIA’s neighborhood‑driven arts event during ArtPrize. Phase Zero is designed to test how recognizing musicians as business vendors can strengthen neighborhood activation, boost foot traffic and spark future investment in our city’s growing creative economy.
