Grand Rapids seeks development partner for major River North redevelopment
The City of Grand Rapids has released a Request for Qualifications to find a development partner for a major mixed‑use project in the River North neighborhood. The nearly seven‑acre site includes three City‑owned properties on Monroe Avenue NW, including the historic Coldbrook Pumping Station and the City’s Development Center. The selected partner will lead a year‑long planning process to study the site, gather community input, review environmental conditions and design ideas, and prepare a plan for future development. When the planning is done, the partner will have the first chance to buy the property under City terms. The project aims to open the riverfront to the public, support strong economic growth and create long‑term community benefits.
