The City of Grand Rapids celebrated the opening of the new Division Avenue Fire Station this morning, Oct. 13, marking a major investment in public safety for the neighborhood. City leaders and firefighters gathered at 1823 Division Avenue South to cut the ribbon on the $12 million, 18,900‑square‑foot facility, which includes modern dorm rooms, a kitchen and dining area, a fitness room and three drive‑through bays. The station, designed by Integrated Architecture and built by EV Construction, will help improve emergency response times and support firefighters for decades. Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of strong public safety services and thanked the many partners who helped bring the project to life.
